Nominees for the The 12th Annual Method Fest –the only U.S. film
festival that puts its focus on the actor – were announced this
morning in Calabasas, Ca. The awards will be handed out at a ceremony
tomorrow night, March 31st, beginning at 10 p.m. at The Rack
Restaurant in Woodland Hills, CA.

“The nominations were a struggle for the jury but at the end, a few
films with outstanding performances and stories really distanced
themselves from the competition,” stated The Method Fest Film Festival

Mike Lagante, a disgruntled recent graduate with a mundane office job
and a difficult girlfriend, is torn

Homewrecker is an adventure that has nothing to do with car chases or
explosions
but is nail-biting nonetheless. Mike is doing what he can to make the
best of a bad
situation. Just when he thinks he’s got things under control, Margo throws him
another curve ball and they’re off in fresh direction. Her beguiling charm and
damsel in distress cajoling keep him caught up in her spell when what
he really
needs to do is get the van back intact to Elite Lock and Key.
It’s one of those days in New York that starts out like any other, but
turns into an
unforgettable experience shared by two people joined by happenstance and a
yearning to be loved. Homewreckeris imbued with wry humor offering its audi-
ence moments that make you shake your head and wonder about the oddness of
humanity.
Directors (and brothers) Todd and Brad Barnes infuse screwball
sensibility into their version of the romantic come-
dy. The chemistry between the leads is crucial: Ana Reeder revels in
her free spirited, no-boundaries role and
keeps Margo likeable; Anslem Richardson is perfect as her straight
man. Full of jaunty dialogue and subtle charm,
Homewreckeris an irresistible and impressive debut feature.

Duncan Christopher is an ordinary guy that grew up the wealthy son of
a suicidal rock star in
a reclusive compound in Collinsville, Oklahoma. He’s just what a young

mannered, awkward, naïve, and whole-heartedly aimless. He feels
destined to follow his late
father’s footsteps to rock greatness. Duncan has an obstacle like all
the best heroes of
Dungeons and Dragons, which he plays fervently, he’s not that good.
After an introspective fall at his 30th birthday party – 25th in a row
at the skating rink – Duncan
moves to Tulsa to really pursue his father’s legendary craft. He moves
in with a jaded uncle and
incorporates the help of his ever scheming, almost charming cousin to
get a big gig. It is a city-
wide karaoke competition. The winner gets to meet with a Chinese
record label in Nashville.
A surprise to all, Duncan begins to work through dormant grief while
singing time honored
karaoke favorites like Feel Like Makin’ Love, Broken Wings, and Kiss
Me. Duncan begins to deal
with his father’s suicide and the audience loves his openness. He
advances through four rounds
of karaoke and meets his biggest fear – Simply Irresistible – a
karaoke champion that represents
all Duncan will have to let go of to keep his soul.
